What it is
The Community of Madrid grants school meal grants to pupils in pre-primary, primary and compulsory secondary education (ESO) at publicly funded schools in the region. Families meeting any of the requirements can apply, for example a family income per person below 8,400 euros in 2024, receiving the Renta Mínima de Inserción, or the Ingreso Mínimo Vital with income per person below 8,400 euros, or being beneficiaries of international protection. For the 2026-2027 school year there is a new application period from 16 October to 16 November 2026; applying online with an electronic DNI or digital certificate is recommended, although it can also be filed at registry offices. There is no fee. The money goes to the school (for example 979 or 445 euros per pupil and school year, depending on the family's situation).
