What it is
In the Community of Madrid you can book, check, change or cancel an appointment at your health centre with Family Medicine or Paediatrics, Nursing, Midwifery, Dentistry or Social Work. You need the health card code, your date of birth and your DNI or NIE (for under-16s, that of the responsible adult); a passport number is not valid. You can book online, with the free 'Cita Sanitaria Madrid' app, by phone on the health centre numbers shown on the back of the health card, at the digital kiosks in some centres or in person at the Unidad de Atención al Usuario. An appointment with a specialist is booked after the primary care doctor refers you.
