Non-lucrative temporary residence
Autorización de residencia temporal no lucrativa
What it is
It is a permit to live in Spain without carrying out work or professional activities. The initial permit is applied for from the country of origin, with form EX-01, at the Spanish Consular Office; you must prove monthly financial means of 400 % of the IPREM for the holder and 100 % for each family member, health insurance, a medical certificate and no criminal record. The fee is form 790 code 052 (section 2.1.1). The initial permit lasts one year and starts counting on entry into Spain, where you must apply for the TIE within a month. Renewal is applied for through Mercurio in the two months before expiry (or the three after), with the same form EX-01; it requires keeping the means and insurance and having lived in Spain for more than 183 days in the calendar year. It lasts two years, the fee is section 2.2.1 and, if there is no reply within three months, it is deemed granted.
