Autorización de regreso
What it is
It is a document for foreign nationals whose residence permit or long-term stay permit is being renewed or extended: it allows them to leave Spain and come back within 90 days, provided they prove they applied for the renewal within the legal deadline. It can also be requested by holders of a valid TIE that has been lost, stolen or destroyed, if they prove they have applied for a duplicate. During the 90 days there is no limit on entries and exits, but it is only valid for entering through Spanish border crossings. It is filed in person at any Oficina de Extranjería or police office, with form EX-13 and proof of payment of the fee form 790 code 012 (10.72 € according to the Police fee table). If no decision is made in time, it is deemed refused.

Steps
Step 1: Apply in person
Hand in form EX-13 and the fee receipt (form 790 code 012) at any Immigration Office or police station. If the trip is due to a situation of need, it is processed with priority.

Step 2: Travel within its validity
It is valid for at most ninety days from the expiry of your authorisation if requested before, or from when it is granted if requested after. During that time you can enter and leave without limit, but only entering through Spanish border crossings.
