What it is

Initial registration as a job seeker in the Community of Madrid is for those who have never been registered with the public employment services; there is no fee. Requirements: living in the Community of Madrid, being over 16 and being a citizen of the EU, EEA or Switzerland (or a family member), or a non-EU national with a valid residence and/or work permit. You provide a valid passport; your NIF/NIE can be checked if you do not object. It is filed online through the Cuenta Digital or in person. Afterwards you are told how to obtain the job-seeker document (DARDE), but for the registration to take full effect you must go to your employment office, with an appointment, within one month for an interview. The registration must be renewed on the dates shown on the DARDE. If you were registered before, you reactivate it at the Oficina Virtual de empleo.

  1. Step 1: Submit the application

    Online with an electronic signature in your Cuenta Digital, or by downloading the completed form and submitting it signed at a registry office.

  2. Step 2: Interview at the employment office within 1 month

    You will be told how to get the DARDE (job-seeker document). For the registration to take full effect, you must go to your employment office, by appointment, within one month for an occupational interview.

  3. Step 3: Renew on the DARDE dates

    You commit to renewing the registration on the dates shown on the DARDE, cooperating with the employment services and reporting changes of address.
