DGT environmental sticker

Distintivo ambiental de la DGT

What it is

The environmental badge (distintivo ambiental) classifies vehicles by their environmental impact; some cities use it to restrict traffic on high-pollution days. There are four: zero emissions (blue), ECO, C (green) and B (yellow); the most polluting vehicles are not entitled to any. You can check which badge a vehicle has with its number plate, online, with the miDGT app, by phone or in person. Displaying it is voluntary, but if it is not visible (bottom right corner of the windscreen) you do not get its advantages. The sticker costs 5 €, plus possible postage, and is sold at Correos, gestorías, authorised workshops and other sellers; it is only valid for driving in Spain.
