Admission to Official Language Schools (EOI)

The Escuelas Oficiales de Idiomas (EOI) are public schools of the Community of Madrid where languages are studied officially, generally from age 16, from basic level up to C2; the languages include Spanish as a foreign language, and also Chinese. You can start in the first year or at a higher level through a placement test or a certificate. The admission application is made through the RAICES system (secretaría virtual); for 2026-2027 the period ran from 4 to 22 June 2026, and for Spanish courses with an academic and professional profile, from 1 to 11 September 2026. EOIs also hold certification exams for external candidates, with registration usually in April (and in December for the February sitting).
