What it is
People who have already retired in China, have a pension account and receive their pension monthly can complete the proof-of-life check in the "中国领事" app (pension qualification section), with facial recognition; the application is sent to the local social security body in China, which usually reviews it within 10 working days. If identity verification fails, submission does not work or the result does not appear, those living in Catalonia can email the consulate ([email protected]) to book an appointment and get the paper form in person, free of charge. This form only proves that the person is alive: the right to the pension is decided by the paying body in China.

Steps
Step 1: Do it in the “中国领事” app
In the “养老金资格” module you register (email or Chinese mobile), fill in your details (have your Chinese ID card and passport ready) and complete facial recognition. Review by the social security office in China usually takes at most 10 working days.
